First introduced in 1931, the Martin D-28 has remained the benchmark for dreadnought acoustics and a defining model in Martin’s history. Favoured by generations of players and featured on countless classic recordings, it continues to represent the standard of tone and craftsmanship in acoustic guitar design. This 1980 example highlights the enduring quality of the model, with a mature spruce top and two-piece Indian rosewood back that deliver a deep, balanced sound enhanced by decades of natural ageing.
The guitar presents in excellent overall condition, showing only light play wear and a couple of minor surface scratches. It remains original throughout, both internally and externally, and comes supplied with its original hard case.
