The Marshall JMP Mk2 Master Model 100w Lead stands as a defining piece of late-'70s and early-'80s British amp design, bridging the gap between the classic Plexi models of the '60s and Marshall's more modern offerings. This 1980 example features the signature brushed aluminium panel and black tolex, with the iconic script logo badge and a full set of original control knobs intact. A classic of the 'rocker switch' era, the arrival of AC/DC in the mid '70s helped to propel these amps in to the heavy rock consciousness.

Inside, it’s loaded with four EL34 power tubes and a pair of ECC83s in the preamp, delivering the unmistakable roar that defined an era. The addition of a factory-fitted master volume control marked a pivotal moment in Marshall’s history, allowing players to achieve that aggressive, saturated crunch at more manageable levels without sacrificing punch or presence.

What sets this amp apart is its sheer clarity and bite — tight low end, cutting mids, and a harmonically rich top that responds beautifully to picking dynamics. Whether pushed into classic rock growl or full-throttle high-gain, the JMP Mk2 remains one of the most revered tones ever put in a box.

Internally the head is original save for replacement screen resistors in the output stage. The transformers, filter caps and all other component appear original and untampered with. The cab featured 4 x Rola Celestion T1221 speakers that date to late 1977. This amp has been serviced by our in house tech, and includes a 3 month warranty, not inclusive of consumable parts.
