Among the many brands of the 1970's 'lawsuit' era of Japanese guitar production, few have been as revered and perpetually sought after as Greco instruments. Initially manufacturing solid body and acoustic guitars in the mid 1960's, the guitar boom of the '70s saw Greco branch out in to a huge range of models predominantly for the Japanese market, many of which shared more than a passing resemblance to their US made counterparts. Over time Greco guitars have rightly been recognised for great quality relative to their affordability, and can be an excellent way of getting your hands on a vintage instrument without the associated price tag.

This 1979 Greco TE-500 was produced by the Fuji-Gen Gakki factory, and features a natural finished semi hollow body akin to the Telecaster Thinline models of the '70s. The body is fitted with a set of Maxon made humbuckers, evoking all the added clarity of the Wide Range Humbuckers used by Fender at the time. Other features include the original pearloid guard, 'Greco Deluxe' Kluson style tuners, and a string through body bridge.

This guitar is in very good cosmetic condition, with some minor play wear and patina, and some ageing to the metal parts. It is internally and externally original.

This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
