Introduced in 1932, the Martin D-18 quickly established itself as the original working musician’s dreadnought and served as the entry point to Martin’s dreadnought range for many years. This 1976 example is a strong representation of a genuinely affordable vintage Martin, showcasing a nicely matured spruce top paired with mahogany back, sides and neck.

Compared to more ornate dreadnought models, the D-18 retains a stripped back, roots driven aesthetic that reflects its practical origins. Tonally, it delivers the familiar Martin balance and warmth, with a clear, rounded voice that works equally well for strumming and fingerstyle, making it a timeless and highly versatile acoustic guitar.

This guitar is in good condition, with some play wear to the top and back, and lacquer ageing to the Spruce. This guitar has benefitted from a neck reset carried out by our own luthiers, along with a restoration of the original shrunken pickguard. Other than this, the guitar is in all original condition, and includes a blue Martin hard case.

As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service & setup by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 2 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty.
