This 1975 Gibson SG Standard is a fantastic example of a later period mid '70s SG, as the model would begin to become synonymous with heavy rock throughout the 1970's. Constructed from a Mahogany body and neck, this SG is finished in a dark Mahogany stain. The body is fitted with the a set of original 'Tar Back' humbuckers, with the bridge pickup on this set being particularly powerful! The Schaller made Gibson branded tuners and Gibson embossed Bigsby horse shoe vibrato are original and correct for the period, and the bridge is the larger harmonica variation used by Gibson during this period. The pots are original and show 137 75XX codes, with the week obscured by solder. All other wiring and electronics are correct for the period. The neck is a comfortable 'D' shape that is superbly playable.
This guitar is in very good condition, with only minor lacquer checking and play wear. It is repair free, and includes a non original case.
The guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
