The second variation of the Telecaster Custom was introduced in 1972, and was a landmark development for Fender, combining their wide range humbucker pickup and classic single coil bridge position sound, offering a level of versatility that proved hugely popular with players of the time.

This 1974 Fender Telecaster Custom is a great example of the model, with a fairly rare Mocha Brown finish that is certainly not the most common for Customs. The neck is comfortable and smooth to play, while the original Seth Lover designed Wide Range Humbucker pickup sounds fantastic, combing the fuller sound of a Gibson style humbucker with the brilliance and clarity of a typical Fender pickup. Paired with the original grey bottom single coil in the bridge position, this Telecaster Custom is as tonally versatile as they come.

This guitar is in good condition, with some minor play wear and buckle rash, but no particularly excessive areas of wear. There has been come work carried out to keep this guitar playing and sounding as it should. This guitar has been refretted and a new nut fitted at some point in its life. Two pots have also been replaced, along with the tone caps, with the original pots dating to the 11th week of 1975. One saddle adjustment screw has been replaced, as has one string ferrule, but otherwise this guitar is internally and externally original. This guitar also includes its original hard case, albeit with one non functioning latch.

This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
