The Les Paul Custom has been the top of the range Gibson solid body since its introduction in 1954. This 1974 Gibson Les Paul Custom is a fantastic instrument that was produced for a year to mark the 20th anniversary of the model, and even more rare in the left handed orientation!
This guitar features a Mahogany / Maple / Mahogany pancake body and neck along with a Mahogany neck and Ebony fingerboard, with the typically resplendent block inlays and split diamond peghead logo found on all custom models. The tuners and other hardware are all gold, as was the standard for this model, and the fretboard is inlaid with a "20th Anniversary" inscription at the 15th fret block inlay.
This guitar is in very good cosmetic condition, but is certainly more on the players side of things in terms of originality. The original humbuckers were replaced by the previous owner in the mid '90s with a set of Gibson 490R/ 498T pickups, with both tone pots also being replaced and the guitar being rewired. The tailpiece is original, though the bridge is a more modern Gibson ABR1 wire unit. The guitar has also been refretted. Otherwise, this guitar is in original condition, with the pickguard, knobs and lesser seen 'Bullseye' Grover Rotomatic tuners present and correct. This guitar also includes a non original hard case.
As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 3 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty. This guitar also includes its original case.
