The Les Paul Custom has been the top of the range Gibson solid body since its introduction in 1954. This 1974 Gibson Les Paul Custom is a great example of a '70s Les Paul, finished in the super rare cherry red colour. This guitar features a Mahogany / Maple / Mahogany pancake body and neck along with a Mahogany neck and Ebony fingerboard, with the top of the line pearl block inlays and split diamond peghead logo found on all custom models. The waffle back tuners and other hardware are all gold, as was the standard for this model, and the cherry red finish has retained a good amount of colour with minimal fade out.

This guitar is in all original condition, with the exception of the control knobs, which are later repros. The pickup covers have also been removed at some point in its life, and the covers themselves look to be non original. The electronics appear original, with the only two readable codes showing dates of the 1st week of 1974 (137 7401)

As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 3 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty. This guitar also includes its original case.
