The Les Paul Custom has been the top of the range Gibson solid body since its introduction in 1954. This 1974 Gibson Les Paul Custom is a fantastic instrument that was produced for a year to mark the 20th anniversary of the model. This guitar features a Mahogany / Maple / Mahogany pancake body and neck along with a Mahogany neck and Ebony fingerboard, with the typically resplendent block inlays and split diamond peghead logo found on all custom models. The tuners and other hardware are all gold, as was the standard for this model, and the fretboard is inlaid with a "20th Anniversary" inscription at the 15th fret block inlay. This guitar features its original Alpine White lacquer finish, which has yellowed nicely with age. The body is fitted with a pair of Patent No. humbuckers, with the patent numbers stamped on the underside of both.
This guitar is in all original condition, although the bridge pickup cover has previously been removed. There is also some evidence of some solder joints being re-flowed, but other wise the wiring loom is intact and original, with the pots showing codes of 137 7421. All hardware appears original, and this guitar retains its original purple lined hard case.
