The second variation of the Fender Telecaster Custom was introduced in 1972 and featured a Wide Range humbucking pickup in the neck position paired with the traditional single-coil bridge pickup, giving the model a broader tonal range than earlier Telecasters.

This 1973 Fender Telecaster Custom is from the second year of production and is finished in a factory Natural lacquer. It retains its original Seth Lover–designed Wide Range humbucker in the neck, offering a fuller output compared to standard Fender single coils, albeit with more clarity than a traditional humbucker, alongside the original grey bottom single coil in the bridge position. Together, these pickups provide the tonal versatility that defined the Telecaster Custom of this period.

This guitar is in very good condition, with some minor play wear and lacquer chips to the front and rear of the body. This guitar has previously been refretted, with the fretboard being relacquered at the same time. The guitar is internally and externally original, with the pots dating to the 5th and 8th weeks of 1973. This guitar also includes its original hard case, tag and polishing cloth.

This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
