Nothing quite compares to the woody semi hollow tone and classic style of an ES-335, and this 1972 Gibson ES-335 if a wonderful example of a classic model, with these Walnut models having quite the cult following. Introduced in 1969, the Walnut option gives the 335 an unmistakable rootsy look, while retaining all the smooth bluesy tone that these guitars are so loved for.
This guitar is in very good condition with only the most minor signs of play wear and patina visible on the finish. The Walnut finish is lighter in hue than others we have seen, with a striking grain to the front and back of the body. The original Patent No. humbuckers are present and correct, with a wonderfully balanced tone that pairs warmth and clarity in equal measure. The pots and electronics are original and fully functional. The tuners, trapeze tailpiece and bridge are original and in great condition. This guitar also includes its original case. The complete package!
As with all vintage instruments, this 1972 ES-335 has been given a full service and appraisal by the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
