This 1972 Fender Telecaster is a superb example of an early ’70s Tele, retaining the classic feel and tonal character that made the model such a mainstay of studio and stage use throughout the decade. Finished in blonde with a rosewood fingerboard, it captures the understated look and direct simplicity that has defined the Telecaster since the 1950s.
Built with the traditional bolt on construction and dual single coil pickup layout, this guitar delivers the bright, cutting bridge tones and warmer neck pickup response that have made the Telecaster one of the most versatile electric guitars ever produced. The neck is dated February 1972, while the original potentiometers date to the 34th week of 1966 (137 6634), suggesting Fender made use of earlier stock components during assembly, something not uncommon during this period.
This guitar remains internally and externally original, with all electronics and hardware appearing untouched. Presented in very good condition overall, it shows the kind of honest ageing and play wear expected from a well preserved vintage instrument of this era. It is supplied with its original hard case.
This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
