Introduced in 1931, the Martin D-28 has long stood as one of the most influential and recognisable dreadnought acoustic guitars ever produced. Known for its powerful projection, balanced response, and exceptional build quality, the D-28 became a cornerstone of folk, country, and acoustic music throughout the 20th century, remaining a favourite of both professional musicians and collectors alike.

This 1971 Martin D-28 is a fine example from the early 1970s, featuring a solid spruce top paired with a two piece Indian rosewood back and sides. The combination delivers the deep low end, clear trebles, and strong projection that have defined the D-28 for decades, while the naturally aged woods contribute to a warm, open tonal character.

The guitar is presented in very good condition overall, with only minor play wear visible to the top consistent with careful long term use. This guitar has benefitted from both a neck reset and a refret, along with a new nut and saddle, ensuring years more of playability. Some braces have previously been reglued, and an area of the bridge plate has been reinforced with newer wood due to previously worn bridge pin holes. This guitar includes its original blue lined case.
