Nothing quite compares to the woody semi hollow tone and classic style of an ES-335, and this 1971 Gibson ES-335 if a wonderful example of a classic model, with these Walnut models having quite the cult following. Introduced in 1969, the Walnut option gives the 335 an unmistakable rootsy look, while retaining all the smooth bluesy tone that these guitars are so loved for.
This guitar is in very good condition with only the most minor signs of play wear and patina visible on the finish. The Walnut still retains and deep brown finish, and the body is fitted with its original early T Top humbuckers. At some point, the original pickup covers seem to have been removed, and the current covers are newer reproductions. The wiring and other electronics appear original and are fully functional. The original bridge has been replaced with a period correct Japanese repro. The Bigsby vibrato is an original vintage unit, but it is possible that it was not factory fitted. This guitar also features a newer set of Gibson Deluxe tuners.
Otherwise, this guitar is internally and externally original and includes its original case, albeit in a fairly worn condition. As with all vintage instruments, this 1971 ES-335 has been given a full service and appraisal by the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
