The 1970's saw changes for many models across the Fender catalog, with this 1971 Stratocaster being a wonderful example of an early '70s Strat done right. Finished in a vibrant 3 tone sunburst, the first thing to note with this guitar is its incredibly light weight compared to the vast majority of other '70s made Fender guitars. Featuring a Maple neck an Alder body, this Stratocaster features a hardtail bridge as opposed to the more typical synchronised tremolo found on the model. The Telecaster style string through body bridge not only greatly improves tuning stability, but also gives these hardtail Strats a real sound of their own, with a woodier, more resonant sound than others.

This guitar is in excellent condition, with hardly any play wear or lacquer checking to speak of. The electronics, hardware and finish are all original and as they should be, with the pots dating to late 1970 (137 7052) and the original grey back pickups present and correct. All other hardware, including tuners, plastics, the bridge and the wiring and switch are original and functioning as they should. The neck butt has the earlier ink stamped month date method, showing JUL 71. This guitar also includes a period correct Fender hard case.

As with all our instruments, this guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
