The 1970s S Yairi YD-402 is a Japanese-made dreadnought acoustic produced during a period when S Yairi instruments were gaining recognition for their build quality and attention to detail.

Built in Japan, the YD-402 features a solid spruce top paired with rosewood back and sides in a traditional dreadnought body format. The larger body size delivers strong projection, a full low end and clear midrange response suited to strumming and flatpicking. The mahogany neck is fitted with a rosewood fingerboard, offering a comfortable and familiar playing feel.

Typical appointments include multi-ply body binding, decorative rosette, split parallelogram-style fingerboard inlays and chrome tuners. Construction and finish reflect the high standards associated with Japanese acoustic production of the era.

This guitar is in good condition, with some signs of play wear to the top, and what appears to be some lacquer water damage to the finish on the back and sides of the instrument.

As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 1 year in line with our vintage instrument warranty.
