This 1968 Yamaha FG-180 is an excellent example from the highly regarded Nippon Gakki period, a time when Yamaha established its reputation for building dependable, great-sounding acoustic guitars.
Constructed in Japan with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, the FG-180 offers a clear, balanced tone with impressive projection and warmth. Its solid craftsmanship, comfortable neck profile, and long-lasting reliability have made these guitars a popular choice among players and collectors alike. This example remains in original condition and continues to perform exceptionally well, reflecting the quality of Yamaha’s late 1960s production. This guitar has also had a piezo pickup added.
