Introduced in 1961, the Gibson Barney Kessel Signature archtop didn't follow in the footsteps of the sleek design of other ES models of the period, instead sporting an vibrant Cherry Sunburst finish and full depth 17" wide body with double pointed cutaways. While not subtle looking instruments, they have gained a following for their unmatched warm, jazzy sound.

This model from 1965 is in fantastic condition. It's body is in excellent shape, and the sunburst finish has remained vibrant over the years with very little signs of play wear. The electronics are preset and correct, with a sweet sounding pair of Patent No. pickups providing plenty of warmth and clarity. The original Kluson tuners, bridge and all other hardware are as they should be, including the original trapeze tailpiece with Barney Kessel wooden insert.

This guitar also includes its original case.

As with all our instruments, this guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
