Although Rickenbacker are credited with creating the first electric guitar with their early '30s steel guitars, their importance is often under appreciated when considering the companies unmistakable influence on rival electric guitar manufacturers in the 1950s and 1960s. Renowned luthier Roger Rossmeisl, who worked with both Rickenbacker and Fender, created a variety of Electro Spanish guitars for Rickenbacker during this period. These semi-acoustic guitars from the 300 series were seen in the hands of countless musicians in the 1960s, including the Beatles, the Who, the Byrds and Jefferson Aeroplane.

This 1966 Rickenbacker 330 is a fantastic example of a standard line 330 model, one of the companies most popular guitars from the period. Featuring the old style, sharp edged body as opposed to the rounded top edge 'new style' body found on 360s during this period, this Fireglo finished 330 is about as typical a Rickenbacker guitar as you can imagine. The body is fitted with a pair of 'Toaster' pickups that are most associated with the bright, jangly sound of vintage Rickenbacker guitars. The lacquered Rosewood neck has a low profile feel that is comfortable to play, and is finished with the dot neck inlay found on these standard models, along with the cat-eye sound holes. Other features include double line Kluson tuners, adjustable bridge, a white split layer pickguard, and five knob control orientation. This guitar also includes a non original case.

This guitar is in excellent condition, with the only major wear being a large patch of buckle rash to the rear of the body. This guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
