The Gibson LG-1 was introduced in 1942 as an entry point to the smaller body Gibson Flat top range. Following a couple of years out of production during WW2, the post war models were reintroduced with ladder braced spruce tops and a sunburst finish, and it is that spec that would continue until the models final year of production in 1974. This 1966 LG-1 is a fantastic example of the model from the mid '60s, showing that these ladder braced Gibson's can in fact be extremely resonant guitars with a real depth of tone. The guitar is constructed from a Spruce top with Mahogany back and sides, along with a set Mahogany neck that sports the slight slimmer neck profile found on Gibson acoustics from the late '60s, making it comfortable to play without having the ultra thin 'pencil' neck profile.

This guitar is in very good condition, with the kind of minor signs of age to the finish that you would expect from an instrument of this age. This guitar is in original condition with the exception of a non original rosewood belly up bridge, which was reseated by our luthiers during the set-up process. This guitar also includes its original case.

As with all vintage instruments, this 1966 LG-1 has been given a full service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
