Initially introduced in the 1940's as the companies student model archtop guitar, the Gibson ES-125 has had a number of variants over the years, all of which with their own sound and style, making them a hugely popular and relatively affordable vintage Gibson. This 1963 ES-125 TDC is an exceptionally clean example of an ES-125, with a dual pickup configuration and pointed cutaway design.

This guitar sounds wonderful, with a pair of dog ear P90 pickups that are well balanced and offer a nice woody tone when combined with the guitars hollow body design. The body is finished in the Cherry Sunburst introduced by Gibson in 1960 with a single bound top, tortoise celluloid guard and trapeze tailpiece. The finish has retained all the vibrance of its Cherry Sunburst lacquer, with many from the period suffering from colour fadeout over the years.

This guitar is in excellent condition with barely any signs of playwear to speak of. All electronics are original and in full working order. The hardware is in original condition save for the tuner buttons, which are later.

As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by the luthier at the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 3 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty.
