The Gibson B-25 was introduced in 1963 to replace the previous LG-2 model in the Gibson catalog. There is not a whole lot of difference between the two models other than the name, with the B-25 featuring a Cherry Sunburst Spruce top with X bracing and Mahogany back and sides. The B-25 does however feature cherry stained back and sides. This model from 1965 is a great instrument, with a particularly resonant and responsive tone when played with a pick or fingers. This guitar also features the slightly narrower nut width introduced by Gibson in the late '60s, making it very comfortable to play.
This guitar is in very good condition, with the kind of minor wear you would expect from a guitar of its age. There is plenty of lacquer checking and patina, with the Cherry Sunburst retaining plenty of its vibrant red. There have been two small cracks to the rear of the body, although these have been cleated and are stable. The tuners, bridge, adjustable nylon saddle and thicker moulded pickguard are all original and correct. This guitar includes a later hard case.
As with all vintage instruments, this B-25 has been given a full service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
