Initially introduced in 1935 as a subsidiary brand by National, Supro guitars and amplifiers have gone on to be regarded as some of the coolest instruments produced during the golden years of musical instrument manufacturing in the USA. The Supro Dual Tone was introduced in 1955 originally as the Duo Tone, and was the first proper solid body Supro branded guitar. The Dual Tone was most famously played by both David Bowie and Ry Cooder.

This 1961 Supro Dual Tone is a great example of a later iteration of the model, and would have been one of the last produced as a wooden solid body, before the shift to the resoglass design in 1962. With a short scale design and 14th fret neck join, the Dual Tone is a very comfortable guitar to play, with a full feeling neck that is easy to get around. This Dual Tone features twin humbucker sized over wound single coil pickups in the bridge and neck positions that perfectly suit crunchy blues playing, and also work brilliantly for slide. This guitar is all original, with the Arctic White 'No-Mar' plasticised finish in great condition, and featuring its original hardware and electronics. This guitar also includes its original case in excellent condition.

As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 2 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty. Get an additional 3 years workshop warranty cover with the No.Tom Guitars Extended Warranty.
