The Century model has been a mainstay in the Epiphone catalog since the late 1930's, and has gone through a variety of changes over the years. The Gibson acquisition of Epiphone gave us the most recognisable Century as we know it, essentially designed as an Epiphone equivalent of the ES-125T. This 1959 Epiphone Century is a wonderful example of this model, in excellent condition.

Featuring a Spruce top, Mahogany body and set neck construction, this Century is lightweight and extremely comfortable to play. This production year was a transitional year towards the Gibson P90 pickup as opposed to the Epiphone 'New York' pickup, was example featuring both pickups seen during this period. The white dog ear cover however is a rather rare feature found on some Epiphone models from this production year only. This guitar features the shorter headstock design and 'bikini' logo found on these early Gibson made Epiphone models.

This guitar is in good condition, with some obvious signs of patina and lacquer checking, and some play wear to the rear of the body and neck. The tuners are a newer set of repro single line Klusons, and the pickguard is a reproduction. Otherwise, this guitar is internally and externally original.

This guitar has been given a full service & appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
