The relationship between Harmony guitars & fretted instrument virtuoso Roy Smeck dates back to the late 1920's, with Harmony manufacturing a large range of Roy Smeck branded Archtops, Flat Tops, Tenor guitars and lapsteels right through to the early '60s, mostly sold through the Montgomery Wards catalog. Like most Harmony instruments, these guitars have a sound and vibe of their own, with a rootsy, woody tone and chunky vintage style necks. This 1958 Harmony Roy Smeck model is in very good condition for its age, with its original black finish and checkerboard binding. The neck is on the chunkier side yet is perfectly comfortable to play, and the X braced body gives this guitar a tone that is perfect for finger style or slide playing. As with all these models, this guitar is finished with the signature Roy Smeck headstock logo.

This guitar has benefitted from a service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, who undertook a neck reset that ensures this guitar will continue to play excellently for many years to come. This guitar also includes a 3 year warranty.
