The 1950s Hoyer archtop is a hollow-body acoustic guitar built in Germany during the post-war period. It features a laminated body with arched top and back, paired with a set neck and rosewood fingerboard.

As typical of Hoyer’s archtop designs of the time, the guitar is fitted with floating bridge and trapeze tailpiece hardware. A custom made wooden pickguard has been added, supporting a floating slim humbucker pickup voiced for jazz playing styles.

This example reflects the construction and style common to mid-20th-century European archtop guitars, with traditional appointments and materials suited to jazz and dance-band use of the era.
