The Crafton guitar company was founded in 1942 in Gothenburg, Sweden, and was renowned for producing some of the finest arch top guitars in Europe at the time. Hand made with incredible workmanship and using the finest materials, this 1948 Crafton Rex is a fine example. This guitar is constructed from a carved solid Spruce top with solid Mahogany back and sides, and has a beautifully resonant and balanced tone. The large body size gives plenty of volume while retaining plenty of dynamic range, making it perfect for traditional jazz and flat picked big band styles alike. The body is finished with a cherry sunburst the has faded over time on the top, and the maple neck features the striking headstock design found on all Crafton models. Other features include engraved open gear tuners, a deluxe trapeze tailpiece, a multi ply celluloid pickguard and unique 'F' hole design.
