Established in 1881 in Boston, the Vega company has a rich heritage in the world of stringed folk instruments, with their early 20th century Banjo's regarded as some of the finest produced during the period. This 1926 Vega Professional Tenor Banjo is a wonderful example of a 'Pie Back' banjo in excellent condition for its age.
Constructed around a 32 hole tone ring, this Vega Professional features a beautifully figured Maple neck and pie sectioned Maple resonator with tortoiseshell binding. The ebony fretboard features ivoroid binding and mother of pearl fret markers with embellishments on the 1st and 5th frets. Other features include the 'Vegaphone Professional' etched presto tailpiece and an ornate pearl inlaid headstock.
This banjo has benefitted from a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and also includes a 3 year warranty.
