2001 Gibson J-45 Rosewood

This 2001 Gibson J-45 Rosewood is a less commonly seen take on Gibson’s famous ‘Workhorse’, featuring rosewood back and sides rather than the more usual mahogany. Built in Gibson’s Bozeman, Montana factory, it combines the familiar slope shoulder J-45 design with a rich, warm and powerful acoustic voice.

Finished in Gibson’s classic Sunburst, it features a solid spruce top, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and Grover tuners. The rosewood construction gives it plenty of depth and resonance, while retaining the punch and character associated with the J-45. It sounds particularly good and is a very enjoyable example of this distinctive version.

The guitar is generally in very good condition, with some play wear and natural lacquer checking, most of which is concentrated around the rear of the neck. There are no breaks or crack repairs. Unfortunately, it does not come with its original case.

This guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
