1999 Gibson Custom Shop Nick Lucas

Originally introduced in the late 1920s, the Gibson Nick Lucas model was developed in collaboration with the celebrated guitarist and entertainer of the same name. With its deeper body construction and compact proportions, the Nick Lucas has become one of Gibson's most distinctive flat top designs, prized for its impressive projection, balanced response and rich tonal character. This 1999 Custom Shop example faithfully recreates the classic specification while benefiting from Gibson's modern craftsmanship.

Built with a solid spruce top and figured maple back and sides, the guitar delivers a clear, articulate voice with excellent volume and surprising depth for its size. The mahogany neck is paired with a rosewood fingerboard, while vintage style inlays and a sunburst nitrocellulose finish capture the look and feel of the original pre war instruments that inspired the model.

This guitar remains free from structural repairs or modifications and is presented in excellent overall condition. The finish displays lacquer checking throughout, adding plenty of vintage character while remaining entirely consistent with a nitrocellulose finished Gibson of this age. Complete with its original Gibson Custom Shop hard case, this is an excellent example of one of the company's most desirable reissue acoustics.
