1998 Ibanez JEM90HAM Steve Vai Signature

The JEM90HAM was released in 1998 as a limited edition Steve Vai signature model celebrating the 90th anniversary of Hoshino Gakki, the Japanese company behind Ibanez. Made in Japan, it is based around the familiar JEM design and specification, but with a much more unusual finish that sets it apart from the regular production models of the period.

The guitar is finished in a striking Blue Metallic, with a hammered style texture and deliberately aged or reliced appearance across the body. Underneath the unusual finish it retains the familiar Japanese made JEM construction and appointments, making it immediately recognisable as a product of the late 90s Vai era. These 90th Anniversary models were produced in limited numbers and are considerably less frequently encountered than the standard JEM models.

This guitar comes complete with its original case and original paperwork. The case has picked up some damage over the years, with cracks to the plastic outer shell in places, but it remains with the guitar. Overall the guitar itself is in very good condition and makes for a particularly interesting addition to a collection of the more unusual Japanese JEM models.

As with all our instruments, this guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
