1972 Gibson Les Paul Custom

This 1972 Gibson Les Paul Custom is a good example of the slightly more rugged character these early 70s Customs can have. Finished in Black and supplied with its original case, it has seen plenty of use over the years and has had a number of changes and repairs, although a good amount of the original guitar remains intact.

The neck has previously been refretted, with the original style fret nibs put back into place, and the rear of the neck was resprayed as part of this work. There is also some finish touch up around the rear of the headstock, along with evidence of previously fitted tuners, although the waffle back tuners currently fitted are correct for the period. The guitar retains its original Pat No. humbuckers, with the embossed pickup covers associated with 1972 still present. Both covers have previously been removed from the pickups, but the pickups themselves remain an important part of the guitar's original specification.

There is plenty of genuine play wear to the finish, along with the usual signs of a guitar that has been used rather than simply kept as a collector's piece. This guitar also includes its original case.
