Fender Japan has produced some excellent vintage reissues over the years, and the TL52-80TX sits towards the top of the range. Built to a high standard, it combines the classic early '50s Telecaster look with a few worthwhile upgrades, most notably a factory fitted pair of Fender Custom Shop Texas Special pickups. These retain the familiar Telecaster bite and clarity, but add a little extra grit and attitude when pushed.
Finished in natural gloss with a black '50s style pickguard, it has all the right visual details, including vintage style flat head screws throughout. The ash body and maple neck give it the traditional Telecaster construction, while the neck profile is an interesting detail in its own right. Rather than the rounder U shape found on some contemporary reissues, this series has a slightly softer V profile that feels comfortable and gives the guitar a character of its own.
This guitar is in excellent, original condition, with barely any play wear to speak of. It includes a non original gig bag.
