This limited edition J-45 was produced exclusively for the Japanese market, recreating the look and feel of an early '60s Gibson slope shoulder acoustic. One particularly nice detail is the period correct belly up rosewood bridge, which was replaced by a moulded plastic design during 1963. It's a lovely example of Gibson's vintage reissue work, with a few details that make it a little more interesting than the standard production models.

The solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides deliver the familiar J-45 character, with a warm, balanced voice and plenty of midrange presence. This particular guitar is nicely resonant, with a slightly brighter sound than some other examples we've played from this period. The neck has a relatively slim profile at the back, making it especially comfortable to play, whether you're strumming chords or working your way around the fingerboard.

This guitar is in very clean condition, with no repairs and includes its original case original case.

As with all our guitars, it has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
