Handcrafted in the famous Kani, Gifu workshop in Japan, K.Yairi acoustic guitars are world-renowned for their uncompromised Japanese luthiery, hand-carved bracing, and extraordinary tonewood selection. The RSY-801 is a boutique-tier round-shoulder dreadnought, combining Gibson-style pre-war aesthetics with exquisite, Japanese custom-grade cosmetic appointments..

Befitting a high-end Yairi, the guitar features bespoke custom appointments throughout. The Rosewood bridge is accented with mother-of-pearl star inlays at the wingtips, matched by a single star inlay anchoring the 12th fret of the Rosewood fingerboard. The soundhole features an intricate multi-ply ring rosette, paired with a tortoiseshell pickguard. On the headstock sits the iconic Yairi inlay, GOTOH-style tuning machines with translucent amber buttons that mirror the golden hues of the flamed back.

As seen in the photos, this 1999 example is in wonderful vintage condition. Having aged naturally over 27 years, it shows only light handling marks, minor surface scratches, and small lacquer dings on the headstock fascia and body edges that reflect careful play. Structurally, the guitar is flawless, with a straight neck, healthy neck angle, stable bridge, and plenty of saddle height left.

This instrument includes its original hard shell case.

his guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty. Please enquire for any internal pictures.
