The early Fender Japan JV series has become highly regarded among collectors and players, representing the first generation of Fender licensed instruments produced by the FujiGen factory in Japan from 1982 onwards. Built to closely replicate the specifications and feel of Fender's pre CBS instruments, these early models quickly gained a reputation for their excellent build quality and convincing vintage character.
This 1982 Fender Japan '62 Reissue Jazz Bass is a fine example from the first year of JV production, finished in classic 3 Tone Sunburst over an alder body. The maple neck features a comfortable early '60s C profile with a rosewood fingerboard, vintage dot inlays and 7.25 inch radius, while the original Jazz Bass pickups deliver the familiar combination of punch, clarity and warm low end associated with the model.
This guitar is in very good, original condition, retaining its original hardware, electronics and finish throughout, with only minor signs of use consistent with its age.
This guitar has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty. Please enquire for any internal pictures.
