First introduced in 1931, the Martin D-28 has become one of the defining acoustic guitar designs, valued for its strong projection, balanced response and unmistakable dreadnought sound. This 1976 example offers the mature character of a well-preserved vintage Martin, retaining the traditional construction and tonal qualities that have made the model a favourite among acoustic players for generations.

Built with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, the D-28 combines a clear, responsive top end with a full bass response and rich, focused midrange. The spruce top features an attractive grain pattern, while the natural ageing of the instrument gives it the understated appearance associated with well-kept examples from this period. The mahogany neck is paired with an ebony fingerboard and bridge, completing a specification that has long been central to the D-28's appeal.

This guitar remains original and free from repairs, making it a particularly appealing example of a vintage D-28. It is in very good condition, with its original construction and components retained throughout. The instrument is accompanied by its original Martin blue hard case.

This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 2 year warranty.
