Often overlooked alongside equivalent models from Martin and Gibson, Guild's Westerly, Rhode Island acoustics from this period have developed a strong following for their build quality, projection and distinctive tone. This 1971 D 35 is an early Westerly example and retains the solid back and sides used by Guild before the company moved towards its pressed back construction on later models.

The guitar features a Spruce top with solid Mahogany back and sides, giving it a warm and balanced voice with plenty of volume and punch. The original open gear tuners and other hardware remain in place, and the guitar is internally and externally original with no major repair work. There has been a small crack repair to the top by the edge of the pickguard, but otherwise it remains a remarkably well preserved example of an early D 35.

This guitar is in very good condition, with some natural play wear and ageing consistent with its age. It comes with a non original case.

As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 2 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty.
