The Fender Custom Shop produce a dazzling range of instruments, from authentic vintage recreations through to boundary pushing modern takes on classic guitars from the companies illustrious history. The Custom Shop offers a range of build types, with Masterbuilt guitars being the pinnacle of the range, built by hand by one of the companies designated master builders showcasing their craft. This 2018 Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster Masterbuilt was designed by Custom Shop veteran Jason Smith, combining elements of classic Fender design with a look akin to that of an '80s 'super Strat', perfectly showcasing the creativity of the Custom Shop.
Featuring a Fiji Mahogany body with a 'New Old Stock' finish, this guitar features a hand stained aged cherry lacquer that beautifully showcases the striking grain of the wood. The roasted Maple neck features a modern 'C' shaped profile and a 7.25"-12" compound radius, giving it a modern feel that is effortlessly playable, with the added comfort of a contoured neck heel for easy access to the higher frets. The body is fitted with two hand wound '60s voiced single coil pickups in the neck and middle, providing classic Strat style chime and clarity, with plenty of vintage warmth. The bridge features a Seymour Duncan Custom Shop '78 EVH humbucker, based on a PAF style pickup with Alnico 2 magnets for great dynamics and pick attack, and plenty of power. Other features include the vintage large headstock design with '70s style 'F' stamped tuners with cream buttons, a plain maple truss rod plug and skunk stripe, rear loaded controls, and a Jason Smith Custom Shop decal on the rear of the headstock.
This guitar is in excellent condition, and includes all its original COA, case candy and black tolex Fender case. This guitar has been given a full service & appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop. This guitar also includes a 3 year warranty.
