A fairly unique example of the Gibson Custom Shop 'Made To Measure' programme, this 2015 Gibson Custom Shop R8 Les Paul VOS is a fantastic playing and sounding guitar, built to 1958 specs and finished in a striking Banana Yellow lacquer finish. Designed to accurately recreate the much revered 1958 Les Paul Standard, this guitar features period correct construction and details that accurately recreate the feel and tone of the original vintage examples, with a custom ordered finish that will set it apart from the rest!
Constructed from a one piece Honduras Mahogany body and a two piece Maple top, this guitar features the long neck tenon design, custom wound Custom Bucker pickups and the VOS finish treatment with aged binding and plastics. The pickups perfectly capture the dynamic, articulate and mellow power of original PAFs, with the black and yellow two tone looks evoking the vintage vibe of a '50s Les Paul Junior. Other features include period correct ABR1 bridge lightweight aluminium tailpiece, vintage style plastic parts, single ring, single line Kluson style tuners, and the fuller feeling 1958 neck carve.
This guitar also includes its original case and Custom Shop certificate.
This guitar is in excellent condition and has been given a full service and set up by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, which includes a 3 year warranty.
