Zemaitis guitars were initially born out of the London blues and folk scene of the 1960s, with the guitars quickly gaining a reputation for their outstanding build quality. Luthier Tony Zemaitis went on to produce instruments for the likes of Eric Clapton, Ronnie Lane, Ron Wood and George Harrison, and have become regarded as some of the most unique and best made luthier built guitars on the vintage market, with his pearl and metal creations being particularly recognisable.
Zemaitis guitars went on to be licensed to be manufactured in Japan by the same company that produces Greco instruments, and this 2008 Zemaitis Black Pearl is a fine example of these guitars. Constructed from a Mahogany body and neck with rosewood board, the Black Pearl features all the signature embellishments you would expect from a Zemaitis, with mother of peal inlaid binding and diamond motif on the body, along with aluminium bridge, tailpiece and headstock details all with the signature Zemaitis flourish.
This guitar is in excellent, all original condition and has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
