Conceived in the early years of the Gibson Custom Shop as a way to showcase the very highest level of their craftsmanship, the Les Paul Ultima was a no expense spared, top of the line creation from the Custom Art Historic division of the Custom Shop. This 1998 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Ultima is a fantastic early example, constructed from a figured Mahogany body with Mahogany neck and bound Ebony fretboard, along with a unique AAA grade flamed carved maple top, finished in 'Heritage Cherry' sunburst lacquer. The body is fitted with a set of Custom Shop Classic '57 Humbuckers, along with abalone binding around the body, an ornate 'Tree Of Life' abalone fretboard inlay and unique abalone Les Paul headstock inlay.
This particular guitar is an exceptional condition with almost no play wear to speak of, and is internally and externally original, and complete with its original Gibson custom case. Other features include all gold hardware with the original gold and pearl Grover Imperial tuners and ABR1 bridge and stoptail.
This guitar is in excellent condition and has been given a full service and set up by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, which includes a 3 year warranty.
