In the 1950's, the Gibson Byrdland was the headline model of the Gibson archtop range along with the L5-ES, and its thin body, shorter scale design made it popular with professional gigging musicians of the day. This 2003 Gibson Custom Shop Byrdland seeks to recreate the original feel and tone of those guitars, with a select Maple body and neck and high grade Spruce top. The body is fitted with a set of '57 Classic Humbuckers that perfectly capture the tone of those early Alnico V pickups. Other vintage inspired features include the mother of pearl flower pot peghead inlay, multi ply neck and body binding, and 'Byrdland' engraved triple loop tailpiece.
This guitar is in excellent cosmetic condition and retains its original case and paperwork. It features a custom made pickguard, but the original is included.
