The Gibson Les Paul Standard has always been considered Gibsons flagship electric solid body, and along with the Stratocaster and Telecaster is one of the most iconic guitars around. This 1978 Les Paul Standard is a great example of a late '70s Les Paul, with an excellent feel and tone for a fraction of the price of its '50s or '60s counterparts.
Featuring a two piece Mahogany body and Maple top, this guitar is finished in late '70s style Tobacco Sunburst that has aged and yellowed nicely over the years. The fretboard is in good condition, and the neck is comfortably playable without being too small in the hand. The pickups sound excellent, with the sort of growl you would expect from a Gibson humbucker, but with more clarity than we have heard on other guitars from a similar period. As ever, this guitar features all the typical Les Paul Standard appointments, with chrome hardware, a 'Standard' truss rod cover, pearloid block fretboard inlay and the original Gibson branded tuners.
This guitar is in very good condition, with only minor signs of play wear and buckle rash, and includes a non original hard case. This guitar has been given a full service & setup by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
