1978 Gibson Les Paul Artisan Sold Out Sold Out Produced between 1977 and 1982 as a limited edition model, the Gibson Les Paul Artisan was the second most expensive Les Paul model in the Gibson range, and was essentially a more decorative, higher spec version of a Les Paul Custom. This 1978 Gibson Les Paul Artisan is a fantastic example of the more desirable three pickup configuration of the instrument. This guitar features a hand carved, Walnut finished Maple top with a Mahogany body along with a Mahogany neck and Ebony fingerboard. The Artisan featured upgraded deluxe appointments, with heart and floral pearl fingerboard inlays, multi ply neck and body binding, and a floral headstock inlay along with a pre war style script Gibson logo. The tuners and other hardware are all gold, much like the Les Paul Customs of this period. The body is fitted with a set of 3 patent stamped pickups, and the adjustable TP-6 tailpiece. This guitar is in excellent condition, with only the most minor signs of play wear and ageing to the finish. All electronics and hardware are original, and the guitar includes its original case. As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 3 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty.
