Originally introduced as Fender's mid '60s flagship student model, the Fender Mustang has become a favourite of players of all styles due to its comfortable short scale design and its unique sound, due in part to the pickup phase switching only found on this model.

This 1977 Mustang is a great player grade example of a mid '70s Mustang. This guitar features the black guard and maple neck combination found on later models, along with the 'F' stamped Schaller made tuners and usual Mustang phase switching electronics.

The original white lacquer finish shows obvious signs of play wear, with the lacquer top coat yellowing extensively as is the case with a lot of '70s Mustangs in this colour. This guitar is internally and externally original with the exception of the volume pot, which has been changed.

As with all vintage instruments, this 1977 Fender Mustang has been given a full service and appraisal by the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
