This 1974 Fender Stratocaster is a perfect example of a mid '70s Fender guitar, with a lifetime of mild playwear and plenty of vintage vibe.

This guitar is finished in a vibrant 3 tone sunburst, and has checked nicely over the years, with the kind of lacquer cracking and patina more commonly associated with nitro finishes. This guitar is constructed from a Maple neck and fretboard and an Alder body. All the typical '70s features are there, with the larger headstock design, three bolt 'F' stamped neck plate and bullet truss rod.

This guitar is in very good condition, with a few minor changes picked up along the way. The volume pot has been replaced, and dates to the 19th week of 1980, and the jack input leads have also been changed. Otherwise, this guitar is internally and externally original. The original pickups are present and correct, dating to October 1974. The original pots show a date code of 137 7339, dating them to the later part of 1973. The tuners and tremolo bridge are original and fully functioning, and this guitar has benefitted from a new nut. This guitar also includes its original Fender hard case.

As with all our instruments, this 1974 Fender Stratocaster has been given a full service and appraisal by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
