The Les Paul Custom has been the top of the range Gibson solid body since its introduction in 1954. This 1973 Gibson Les Paul Custom is a fantastic in amazing condition for its age, and is one of the best examples of a '70s 'Black Beauty' we have had in store. This guitar features a Mahogany / Maple / Mahogany pancake body along with a Mahogany neck and Ebony fingerboard, with the typically resplendent block inlays and split diamond peghead logo found on all custom models. The tuners and other hardware are all gold, as was the standard for this model.
This guitar is in very good condition, with some minor play wear to the top and rear of the body and the rear of the neck, along with the usual lacquer checking and patina. The binding has yellowed significantly, but the finish is otherwise in good condition with no touch up. The pots and wiring are original, with the pots dating to the 3rd and 9th weeks of 1973. The pickups are original Patent No. versions, although the covers have previously been removed and the pickups themselves appear to have been desoldered from the loom at some point.
As with all our vintage instruments, this guitar has been given a thorough service by the Vintage Instrument Workshop and is guaranteed for 3 years in line with our vintage instrument warranty.
