The Telecaster Deluxe, the company's first dual humbucker guitar, was released in 1972. It replaced Fender's classic single coil sound with fuller, heavier rock sound that had made Gibson solid bodies so well-liked at the end of the 1960s and the beginning of the 1970s. The Deluxe, which was the highest-end Telecaster model available at the time, is now among the most sought-after vintage Telecaster models among players and collectors. This 1973 model has a slab body with a three-bolt neck construction and a typically '70s mocha brown finish. These finishes have varying looks depending on how they age, with this one retaining a slightly darker hue. The neck has a typical slim '70s profile and is very comfortable in the hand, also featuring the larger Strat style headstock found on these models at the time. The original Seth Lover designed Wide Range Humbucker pickups sound fantastic, and offer the depth and warmth of a traditional humbucker while retaining some of the chime and clarity that Fender guitars are renowned for.

This guitar is in very good condition, with some minor signs play wear to the lower edges of the body and rear of the neck. The pickups are original and in full working order, as are all other hardware and electronics, with the pots dating to the 3rd and 9th weeks of 1973. This guitar also includes its original hard case.

This guitar has been given a full service by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
