Introduced in 1962, the Jaguar was intended to be Fender's new top of the line model, but with its unique sound, switching options and shorter scale, it would go on to find favour with alternative musicians throughout the following decades.
This 1969 Fender Jaguar is a great example of a later '60s Fender offset guitar, with the style that is synonymous with these later models paired with that classic Jaguar tone. The Alder body is fitted with the original single coil pickups, that when paired with the lead & rhythm circuitry can cover a wealth of tonal options. One of the most distinguishing features of Fender offsets of this period is the block inlaid and bound neck introduced in 1967, giving the instrument a particularly deluxe look. The neck dates to October '68.
This guitar is in very good condition, with some play wear and buckle rash to the front and back of the body, and some patina and ageing to the finish. The electronics, hardware, pick guard and finish are all original and correct, with the exception of the bass cut switch, which has been replaced. This guitar also includes a non original tremolo arm and non original hard case.
This guitar has been given a full service & setup by our luthiers at the Vintage Instrument Workshop, and includes a 3 year warranty.
